Av samma blod (1935) is the final installment in Agnes von Krusenstjerna's suite of novels Fröknarna von Pahlen, in which she continues to explore complex relationships and social norms in early 20th-century Sweden.

In Of the Same Blood, the story of Petra and Angela von Pahlen culminates. Angela, now pregnant, returns to Eka Manor, where she is confronted with the gossip and prejudices of the village. Petra discovers an old diary written by her Aunt Laura, which reveals hidden family secrets and the attempts of previous generations to bury them. Meanwhile, relationships develop between other characters on Eka, leading to conflicts and passions. The novel ends with a group of women establishing a commune on Eka, where Angela gives birth to her daughter with Petra by her side, symbolizing a new beginning and a quest for self-determination and love on equal terms.
