It is important that your customers are safe and secure when shopping in your webshop. That's why all versions of Abicart have built-in support for SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). The latest version of SSL is called TLS (Transport Layer Security).

This is a security standard that is used on websites all over the world. When you run an e-commerce and webshop, you are handling some sensitive data that is important to protect. By using SSL (or TLS), all information sent between the server and the user is encrypted, which means that it cannot be intercepted or changed by anyone else.

HTTP and HTTPS?

All Abicart web shops use HTTPS. 

HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) is a protocol (a kind of language between computers) used to transfer data between the user and the web server. With the addition of SSL over HTTP, the security protocol HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is used, which is now standard in the vast majority of web shops and websites.
