What is Looker Studio?

Looker Studio is a free tool from Google that lets you create interactive dashboards and visual reports using your data. You can connect data from Google Analytics, as well as other platforms, to analyze and share insights in a visual way, without the need of coding.

What is it used for? / What are its functions?

Google Analytics collects raw data, but it’s often hard to navigate and understand—especially for non-technical users. Looker Studio turns that data into visual, user-friendly dashboards that are easy to read and share.

It helps customers see how their e-paper is performing by showing data like reader activity, time spent, popular pages, device usage, and response to push notifications. The goal is to help them measure engagement, improve content, support marketing decisions, and provide data for advertisers.

Customers can set up Looker Studio on their own, however it can take a lot of time for them. That’s why we offer to do it for them for a fee.

How is the function/API activated/implemented? - What actions are needed from the customer?

The customer has to:

  • Invite dev@prenly.com to the Google Analytics account that the report should be created for

Since the transfer of ownership of a Looker Studio is complicated, we share the template with the customer, for them to duplicate. This ensures that the customer retains full ownership of the table while still allowing us to manage the setup and configuration.

Therefore the customer also needs to:

  • Make a copy of the template table
  • Add dev@prenly.com as administrator on the copy
  • Connect the correct GA-property to the report (in case the customer has several properties in his GA account).
    • The customer should be asked which source he would like to add to the report when duplicating it
    • Only the owner can add the source
