Orax is a full-service supplier to cemetery administrations throughout Sweden.
We manufacture and supply products to churches, crematoria, mortuaries, and hospitals, as well as refrigeration and freezer cells with associated equipment for handling coffins and stretchers.
With our knowledge and experience, we help customers all the way from design to delivery and installation. We also offer training and service agreements to ensure the efficient use of the equipment.

History of Orax
It all started 80 years ago with Orvar Axelsson. He was a trained cabinetmaker and later also started manufacturing and selling bicycles in Vårgårda.
He contacted a cemetery manager in Borås who asked if he, who made wheels, could also make a coffin trolley so that they didn't have to carry the coffins. And Orvar did. And the customer was satisfied. As a curious and enterprising entrepreneur, Orvar caught on to more needs in the churches. And more products were made at Orax in Vårgårda.
Orvar's entrepreneurial spirit still characterizes the business in Vårgårda, where we continue to develop and manufacture the products.


In an interview with Therese Vestberg, who works in marketing and sales at AB Orax, we learn more about their solid history:

What do you sell in your shops?
We have about 1,500 products in our webshop. Everything from our in-house made coffin handling trolleys for 200 000 SEK to cemetery signs for 10 SEK. We have a wide range that we offer our customers, with us, they get the whole package and a single contact where they can place orders for everything.

 Why did you set up an online store in addition to your physical stores?
We have a combined website and webshop. We want to simplify and make it easier for our customers, with orders, information, and knowledge. Awaken customers' interest with new products, instructions, and product knowledge.

What is the best thing about running your own business and online store?
We used to have a webshop but now have more customers in the new one. The positive thing is that more and more people are ordering online and sales have increased. We get positive feedback from customers about how it is set up and easy to use.
