Info on operational disruption 2023-08-30

Art. no. 216462997 24 Apr 2025

Some days just don't turn out as planned. We are extremely relieved to announce that the system is now back in full operation.

Let's not kid ourselves - we have experienced an almost unbelievable series of events that we could hardly have imagined where it all started with a tractor running into the power grid and knocking out power in 3 municipalities (for 20,000 households) but we managed to cope thanks to our redundant electricity supply.

The problem arose when power was restored when our network provider inadvertently applied 270 volts instead of the standard 230-240 volts. This resulted in several critical hardware components being burnt and stopping working. We have therefore during the afternoon, in parallel with the start-up of our systems more or less emptied electronics stores in the Gothenburg area of necessary hardware.

Sure, we have redundant fiber lines, servers and even a large diesel generator for power supply (which, by the way, worked fine earlier today and smoked so much that the fire department came to visit). But this was a situation we have certainly never encountered before.

To ensure that we are even better equipped for the future, we have decided to sign a partnership with a co-location service provider. This means that in the future we will distribute additional parts of our operations to several independent geographical locations - of course within Sweden's borders and with our own servers.

We have also decided to improve our customer support flows. Soon you will see a new approach that will allow you to reach us in more ways, without the need to log in. We are really looking forward to sharing this exciting news with you.

Thank you for your understanding and perseverance during this challenging day. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this interruption has caused.

Wishing you a very nice evening!
